Business Problem

Organizations faced challenges with manual HR processes, scattered employee data, inefficient recruitment, and compliance risks. This led to significant administrative burden on HR staff, increased errors, and a poor employee experience due to slow and inconsistent service delivery.

Solution

Developed an intuitive HRMS using Laravel for the backend, Inertia.js with Vue.js for a rich single-page application experience, and Spatie Media Library for efficient document management. The system automates onboarding workflows, provides a self-service portal for employees, and includes robust reporting for HR analytics and compliance.

Architecture

Modular architecture comprising Recruitment Module, Employee Management Service, Leave & Attendance System, Performance Review Engine, and Document Management Service. Integrates with third-party payroll systems via REST APIs and utilizes queues for background tasks like notification delivery and report generation. Role-based access control ensures data security and appropriate access levels.

Challenges

Ensuring compliance with diverse regional labor laws, handling complex leave accrual rules, designing a flexible performance review system adaptable to different organizational structures, and securely managing sensitive employee data while providing an intuitive user experience across all modules.

Performance Optimizations

Implemented efficient database indexing for frequently accessed employee records, optimized document storage and retrieval using S3 integration via Spatie Media Library, utilized Laravel Queues for asynchronous processing of bulk HR operations, and employed Vue.js component caching for faster UI rendering.
